Gentleman has spoken about Save the Vale, which extends into my constituency covering Cucklington, Stoke Trister, Pen Selwood and other villages in the Blackmoor vale in Somerset. Does he agree that whatever the merits of wind turbines—I actually think that there are many—they cannot override normal planning considerations of landscape value? Would not it be better to have a national and a local strategy for identifying the right sites in planning and landscape terms than to leave such decisions to an opportunistic and adventitious application process?” Click here for details of the debate, as published in the Hansard.

- DO YOU NEED A SPEAKER TO HELP SET THE SCENE AT YOUR LOCAL MEETING?
Since becoming involved in the ‘Save the Vale’ campaign, I have gained a great deal of information that I could share with other parishes that are concerned at the impact of these installations. If you are holding a meeting, and would like a local speaker to attend and give a 10-15 minute briefing, then I would be happy to help. Although I am against the plans put forward by Ecotricity, I am able to give a balanced and factual account of the implications of the proposal. I will be only too happy to help.
